| SOLD Ardizzone, Edward (1900-79), 'The Bus Stop', Lithograph, 1938. |
| Edward Ardizzone (1900-79) |
| SOLD From the second series of ‘Contemporary Lithographs’ published in March 1938.
Ruth Artmonsky has said of Ardizzone and this work, ‘Much of his working life was recording the daily round of folk in the surroundings of Maida Vale. The Bus Stop is typical of his reportage. The altercation of the bus conductor with the plump woman is typical of the sharp humour of his social commentary’.
